Anne Heche
A fearless woman died today. An actress. I’ve never met her. I didn’t know her. But she was there for me when I was a young lesbian. Unsure. Scared. Alone. I watched her interviews with her then girlfriend Ellen on tape almost every day in my tiny bedroom alone building up my courage to go to a lesbian bar in London by myself in hopes of finding that same love. Passion. Partner. Peace. I never found it. She ended up marrying a man, having kids. I couldn’t stand to watch her after that. She was brave. She was mad. She was love. Rest in peace Anne Heche.
