my love
Oh my love, I held you today as you were crying and though
my heartfelt for you inside of me was numb.
Your tears, your eyes, your sorrow, your heart – I was both
humbled and proud.
Humbled by your belief in me to share the ache you hold
inside, proud that I can be of some comfort to you, you are this magnificent,
glorious woman
I say over and over to you I cannot know what you are
suffering
I cannot know what it feels like for a mother to be forced
away from her children although I was once the child without a mother’s
presence.
I believe, with all the certainty that there is a God. That your
children will love you and forgive you
I believe and pray and trust in God that you will succeed and
your tormentors will pay obeisance to you as the sons’ of Jacob did to Joseph.
“Mutum ba Allah ba” I hear you say that phrase as I sit
here at work
Mutum ba Allah ba and God forgive me if human beings were
God then you are God because you too are human being and dear to God.
Let me lighten your load in this precious moments we have
with laughter and silliness and find what lightness we can on this journey that
is our life.
Let me hold your hand
I offer to you all that I have
I hold my hand out to you
